6 Amazing GAA Coaching Books You Need to Read This Year 0

We love our coaching books – those that help to mould both the young and not-so-young Gaelic Games players and their mentors.

Currently, there are countless websites, podcasts and webinars offering insights and resources online, but as any GAA coach will tell you, a good book can also get the creative coaching juices flowing.

Here are six books that we have chosen (in no particular order) that coaches might find useful. And feel free to suggest the name of a book or other resource that you turn to and that might aid other coaches.

The Definitive List Of Inter County All Ireland Winners 2017 in Football, Hurling & Camogie At All Levels.

The Definitive List Of Inter County All Ireland Winners 2017 in Football, Hurling & Camogie At All Levels. 0

2017 was an amazing year for GAA fans with some of the most exciting games in years.

In the Senior Hurling Championship, Galway brought the Liam McCarthy back to the west for the first time in 29 years. And while Waterford were the unlucky losing finalists they thrilled The Deise supporters, especially that memorable and epic game against Kilkenny in the qualifiers.

In the mens football Dublin claimed an historic 3 in a row when Stephen Cluxton lifted the Sam Mcguire after an enthralling battle against Mayo. There were plenty of talking points in this one, but the occasion and game itself will live long in the memory. Two fantastic amateur teams gave their all in front of a packed crowd of loyal fans.

Galway senior ladies’ footballer Lisa Gannon is undoubtedly a role model for women in sport.

She was not a promising underage star growing up and yet, through sheer hard-work and determination, she has firmly established herself as a first-choice player on the Tribeswomen’s flagship team.

Having played an integral role in Galway’s impressive 3-12 to 1-8 victory over Mayo in the Connacht final at McHale Park, Castlebar in early July, vice-captain Lisa and her team-mates are now looking forward to an All-Ireland quarter-final showdown against reigning All-Ireland champions Cork or Ulster finalists Monaghan on August 19.
